Visibility, voice, resources, and emotional support are important considerations in making Chicago Westside gentrification safe for People of Color, LGBTQA, non-binary, and gender non-conforming, including the local and the non-local residents. Elohim Urban Mission Resource Center on Chicago Westside will create bridges to families, friends, allies, and donors. The formation of a Resource Center at Elohim Urban Mission that is professionally staffed, has adequate administrative support and space, and is centrally located will answer a critical need as identified by Transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and LGBTQ People of Color and community at large. The Resource Center will efficiently gather and organize Transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and LGBTQ People of Color resources and become the focal point for programming, services, education, and outreach.
